We’ll use our house in Methoni as our model to show our Hellas Villas clients what we can do. So far we bought the land (that was fun! Got to see a lot of this area in the southwest tip of the Peloponnese, but we really think for us, nothing can beat the sea view with a medieval castle sitting on the end of a peninsula). We have gone past the dream, (which is a state I could live in! Fancy magazines and internet sites really came in handy). Now we are well into the planning, (and that was tough trying to put it all into something within the legal Greek limits, not that the limits are really limiting, but come on, we had just been dreaming.) There are earthquakes to consider along with the Greek rules so we are working with civil engineers and architects and getting it looking like we want it and keeping it structurally safe and within the law. So the dreaming is done, and the planning nearly finished. Next is building!
We've even begun to put the right people on the building schedule. Once you like to work with a fellow, we’ve noticed in our lives for this to be so true, get a referral for your next service needs and the chances of making it a positive relationship go up exponentially. We’re doing a lot of that here, working with people who have been referred to us by like minded folks. So far we have no evil stories to tell. That’s a relief, but not a surprise. People here are generally pretty nice and easy going. I’m really enjoying this process.
However, I know that the biggest thrill will be moving in. Wow, how I love to decorate!!! Decorating will have to be a whole other post. I could go on forever. (And first I have to find the equivalent of a French Puce around here....wish me luck!)
Cheers! Randy
